Team Magic presents the 10th AnnualPowerman Alabama Duathlon!!
Welcome to Team Magic's Powerman Alabama and Whistlestop Duathlons! For those of you that have raced with us before, welcome back. For those racing with us for the first time...WELCOME! Our goal is to provide an outstanding racing experience for all racers...from the first, through the middle, to the last. We are celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2005... and taking the race site back to the roots! The venue is moving back home to the City of Irondale. While we have enjoyed our years at the Birmingham Race Course, we are really excited about moving back "home." The City of Irondale
The Powerman race is once again a qualifier for the Long Distance World Championship IN ADDITION to the Short Distance World Championship.
Please use the links on the left menu bar for more information on the Whistlestop Duathlon and for quick references for Powerman Alabama race details.

Important News about USA Triathlon National Ranking You
must compete in your age group if you want to receive national ranking
with our governing body, USA Triathlon. The USAT rule that applies
is 3.2a, which says, "all age group athletes must participate and
compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete's actual
age on the date of the event." If an athlete chooses to compete
at a sanctioned event in any special race-specific category grouping which
offers a start group or other course modification other than those
designated by USAT as Age Groups, then that athlete forfeits the
opportunity to have that race count towards their age group ranking.
This basically applies to those athletes competing in the Clydesdale,
Athena, and Beginner categories. We will therefore start these
categories within their respective age groups so all racers will not miss
being ranked. This event will be timed using the Champion Chip Timing System. You will receive a small chip and ankle band with your race packet at registration. This chip is programmed to coincide with your individual race number. During the event, you will cross mats that will record your time as you transition from run-to-bike-to-run and then at the finish line. You MUST wear your chip throughout the entire event in order to receive your splits and finish time, and to compete for an award. Please click HERE for further information.
