Welcome
We are making a break from our Powerman Tradition, and still bringing you a great Spring Duathlon option.
The 2013 Team Magic Season kicks off with our Double Oak Duathlon Weekend at Oak Mountain State Park, in Pelham, Alabama, just south of downtown Birmingham.
Not to worry, the PowerKids Duathlon returns for 2013 and will be the first of 8 youth events this season.
For 2013, Team Magic is proud to announce that the Double Oak Duathon is the following:
USAT SERC Event (Southeast Regional Club Series),
2013 USAT Team USA Age Group Duathlon World Qualifying Event
2013 USAT Elite Team World Qualifying Event
AND part of the NEW USAT Duathlon Race Series Check out more info on this new series here.
Course Overview
This season opener is set in Oak Mountain State Park, a picturesque 9,940-acre park. The courses for both distances are challenging but not extraordinarily difficult. This years adult races will serve as 2013 International Triathlon Union [ITU] Standard and Sprint Distance Duathlon World Championship qualifying events. The 2013 ITU Duathlon World Championship will occur on August 10-11, 2013 in Ottawa, Canada.
Run Course: Watch for deer as you run on beautiful and peaceful park roads. The Standard distance also includes about 0.6 miles on a fairly flat and smooth trail.
Bike Course: This out and back course through the park is scenic with a few rolling hills, but nothing too steep or crazy.
Powerkids Duathlon: This popular season opener for kids will be challenging and fun... a great venue for families and friends to cheer on our youth racers.
