2009 Music City Triathlon - Staging at LP Field

July 25th - Nashville, TN - For the 2nd year, this 32 year old triathlon will be held in downtown Nashville, adjacent to LP Field, home of the NFL Tennessee Titans. Two race distances are offered. Racers will swim in the Cumberland River, bike traffic free on a completely closed Ellington Parkway, and run through the heart of downtown Nashville's business and entertainment district.

Intermediate - 1.5k swim / 40k bike / 10k run REGISTER INFO
Sprint - 400 yd swim / 20k bike / 5k run REGISTER INFO

The Intermediate Distance race qualifies top male and female racers from the state of Tennessee for the Best of the USA Amateur Competition.

New in 2010 there will be a Best of the U.S. Wave 2 consisting of the 2nd and 3rd place state medalists. First place finishers will still go out ahead of the field in the Champions Wave, as before. But Wave 2 athletes will have the chance to strut their stuff, too, as they will also be eligible for individual awards.

Also Part of the 2010 Junior Development Series

Team Magic is honored to have our Music City Sprint Distance Triathlon to be part of the USAT Junior Development Series - come out and see the up and coming triathlon stars! The age categories in the series are 13-15 and 16-19. Our Buster Britton Triathlon in June is also part of the series and serves as the regional qualifier where the 16-19 age group wins a slot on Team USA for Sprint Worlds, with slots rolling down to second place only. The Mountain Lakes Triathlon on August 14th is also part of the series.

If you are not racing this time around or have family or friends that want to come out to watch you but also volunteer, just follow this link to sign up. There are many options. Race management will contact you a few days before the race with final details. All volunteers get a volunteer race logo shirt and are invited to enjoy free food and drink after the race.
