TEAM MAGIC DONATES TO MIDDLE TENNESSEE FLOOD RELIEF: As many of you know, Middle Tennessee - home to several Team Magic events - is currently recovering from a flood disaster. We have decided to donate to the FLOOD RELIEF FUND being organized through The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. We will donate $5 of every online registration that takes place on Thursday, May 13th for ANY Team Magic event. Our total donation will be announced on Friday, May 14th. This is a great way to help Nashville and we are picking up the tab!

Click here for information on the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Middle TN Floods and Gulf Oil Spill - Event Impact

Middle Tennessee:
Team Magic holds events in Hendersonville (Old Hickory Lake Triathlon) and downtown Nashville (ACME Multisports Music City Triathlon) - both of these areas were hit with the flooding mentioned above. Meetings will be scheduled as soon as we are out of "emergency" mode. We are assessing the situation along with city officials and are planning to hold these events as planned. Look for announcements the week of May 24th on any impact on both events - most importantly, keep us on your calendar as we are sure the races will go on!

The Gulf:
Team Magic hosts the Brett Robinson Alabama Coastal Triathlon in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, AL in September. The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is clearly a concern of many. This event is "co-hosted" by the Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission and Convention and Visitor's Bureau. Here is a statement from them regarding the situation at hand: "We at the Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission, along with our sister organization the Alabama Gulf Coast CVB, are closely monitoring the situation in the gulf. We encourage you to visit www.gulfshores.com/issues, where we are posting verified and timely updates specific to the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach communities. Please know that we are committed to providing the best possible athletic experience in our slice of paradise, and we look forward to your arrival."

AMERICAN BICYCLE GROUP ANNOUNCES NEW qrCORPORATE HEADQUARTERS - Downtown Chattanooga
May 10, 2010 - Ooltewah, Tennessee - American Bicycle Group (ABG) today announced the relocation of its corporate offices from Ooltewah, TN to downtown Chattanooga. The move is expected to be complete in July and help to accommodate additional staff and telecommunications needs related
to the company's expanding international brand exposure. "It's a natural progression for us," said CEO Peter Hurley. "The success of the new Litespeed carbon line, the favorable industry reception to the Quintana Roo CD0.1 and wetsuit offering, along with the improving economic climate, meant that we needed to reassess the physical amount of office space that we will need as we add staff."

The company also plans to move its titanium production to a nearby facility concurrent with the sale of their existing building to Lynskey Performance, also of Tennessee. CEO Hurley adds, "The old factory has served us well and it has certainly played a role in the tradition of fine bicycle manufacturing here in Southeast Tennessee. At the same time, this was a great opportunity to see the structure itself remain a bicycle frame producer and an important employment base for this area." "We've seen exceptional domestic and overseas growth for both the Litespeed and Quintana Roo brands this year, added new materials to our family of bikes, and strengthened our core commitment to highly engineered titanium production right here in the USA." Fulfillment of 2010 inventory to dealers will not be affected in any manner. Dealers or distributors with questions are encouraged to contact ABG via the Dealer Priority email address.

Travel: Use Team Magic's Research To Save Time & Money & Get a Sense of Comfort

When possible, Team Magic lists hotel options for your chosen event weekend. These hotels are offering special rates for travelracers and often offer other special amenities like opening breakfast early, providing "old towels" to clean your bikes, late checkout, etc... Look under "Travel" on the quick link menu provided in the left margin of each race home page. New in 2010, someone on the Team Magic staff will visit any property we list to insure the quality our racers expect. Our goal is to provide a range of economical to more high end properties to satisfy our complete audience. If we do not have hotel options listed, unfortunately we were not able to secure any special rates for that event.
