Weekend Map Overview
Powerman Alabama Run Course
Powerman & Double Oak Du Road Bike Courses
Double Oak Duathlon Run Course
Powerman Alabama Duathlon (10K/60K/10K)
Back to the Powerman tradition, expect some great hills for both the bike and run courses - nothing too crazy, just enough to earn the name... the courses are beautiful on the peaceful roads of Oak Mountain State Park. The bike course will be three 20k loops and the run course will be a run through the forest out and back with two turn around points - rolling hills and one climb from about 2.7 mi to 4.0 mi.
double oak duathlon (2.5K/20K/2.5K)
One quarter of the Powerman run and one 20k loop on the bike and out and back for the run on the same course as Powerman, just shorter and missing the big hill!
RUN COURSE NOTE: Please stay to your right on both Run#1 & #2

Fluid & Gel On Course: Powerman & Double Oak
There will be Powerade and water on the run course. Hammer Nutrition products will be provided in your race bag and Hammer Gel will be available on the run course. PLEASE note there will NOT be Powerade at the bike bottle exchange, based on past consumption. Since so many people prefer to have their own fluid replacement, we will have water only available on the bike course, and will have water and powerade on the run course. For the Double Oak Duathlon, there will be fluid station at your run turnaround. For Powerman, there will be four fluid stations, one you will pass three times: (1) run start at transition exit, (2) 0.75 miles, (3) 1.6 miles, (same as 2) 2.5 miles, (4) almost 4 miles, and (same as 2) 5.5 miles.
And as always, the Birmingham Rugby Club will be passing out water at the Powerman bottle drop!! Be sure to yell a big thank you to these guys!
TRANSITION AREA RULES
The Powerman and Double Oak Duathlon transition area officially opens at 7:00 am. Bikes must be in transition at 8:00 am, 30 minutes prior to the 8:30 am first wave start. Please respect other participants that are racing before your wave start begins, or may still be racing when you are finished. Keep on alert for racers as you move in and out of transition before, during and after your race is over.
Bikes are racked according to your race number. Pre-registered race numbers are assigned based on age group within your race. Late registrants will receive last numbers and be racked by their race number only, not within age group.

RACE SUPPORT
BIKE LINK (the official bike sponsor of Powerman weekend) will be on site for race support - they are there only for emergencies, not complete tune-ups, so be sure to have your bike checked before you come to the race. Look for their tent near the RACE TRANSITION AREA.

EVENT TIMING & GETTING RESULTS & PHOTOS
We use electronic timing chips, body marking, helmet numbers, bike frame numbers, and bib numbers to insure we keep track of you during the race and provide you accurate results. Click HERE or on the image below to see what you need to expect to receive at race packet pick up and what to do to make sure we know who you are in this event.

CATEGORIES, AWARDS, PRIZES & POST-RACE
USAT AGE UP RULE
All USAT races will use the "AGE UP RULE" for award distribution and ranking. It is important that you begin in the proper wave start with respect to this rule. The age up rule means you are racing based on your age as of 12/31/11. Our computer timing program will automatically calculate your age based on your birth date and the age up rule criteria.
GREAT PRIZES FOR AWARD WINNERS!
Please hang around to get your award and for a chance at prize drawings. We will not be mailing awards, so if you cannot stay, please ask a friend to pick up your award.
Thanks to our official bike sponsor, Bike Link, for providing great award bags stuffed full of useful prizes for each overall individual category in Powerman and Double Oak Duathlon and for the Powerkids Award Winners as well. In addition, Powerman Individual Award Winners receive a race logo transition bag and race logo ceramic mug. Double Oak Individual Winners and all Relay Team winners get a race logo fold-up back pack and race logo ceramic coffee mug.

All PowerKids receive a participation award at the finish line.
